Walker’s Legacy Foundation Awarded $10,000 M&T Bank Grant to Support Women Who Enterprise for Multicultural, Women Owned Businesses in Rochester, NY 

Rochester, NY—March 1, 2021—Walker’s Legacy Foundation, the largest digital platform for multicultural women in business, is pleased to announce that M&T Bank has selected the organization to receive a grant of $10,000 to launch the Women Who Enterprise Accelerator Program. The accelerator is for women entrepreneurs in Rochester, NY.

"COVID-19 has shown us how vulnerable our economy can be, this is particularly applicable to women of color-owned businesses who are already operating at a disadvantage compared to the businesses of their male counterparts,” said Natalie Madeira Cofield, Founder & CEO of Walker’s Legacy. “We are proud to partner with M&T Bank to provide business training for women entrepreneurs in Rochester through our Women Who Enterprise 3-month accelerator program." 

Women Who Enterprise is a 3-month intensive business training program that utilizes a structured curriculum, an online cohort model, and expert lectures to aid aspiring and existing business women of color in their pursuit of advancing their business operations and access to funding. 

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Walker’s Legacy Foundation has graduated more than 400 women of color from its Women Women Who Enterprise Accelerator.
